Diesel Mechanic

A large distributor is looking to add a dedicated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of diesel-powered vehicles in the Southwest Houston area. This is a 3rd shift position, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics. UTI students/graduates are encouraged to apply.**

WORK SCHEDULE: 3rd shift; either Mon-Friday 9pm-5:30am OR Sun-Thurs. 10pm-6:30am

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems in diesel trucks.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks on diesel-powered delivery trucks and other fleet vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to provide updates on repair status.
  • Overhaul or replace worn or damaged parts using precision instruments, as well as power tools.
  • Read blueprints/wiring diagrams to determine location, size, capacity, and type of components needed to execute repairs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • +2 years of related mechanical experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program or vocational school is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins
  • Bilingual is a plus.
