Your expertise keeps their operations moving by delivering field‑based troubleshooting, installation support, preventative maintenance, and repairs — for both DEUTZ engines and non‑DEUTZ construction equipment supported by the DEUTZ Power Center.
How you’ll contribute
- Show up ready: plan methods and repair sequences; pre‑order the parts and materials you need.
- Diagnose, service, and repair equipment to manufacturer requirements; verify function and appearance before sign‑off.
- Travel across your region to customer locations; resolve issues quickly and respectfully.
- Document work orders and time promptly; use the DEUTZ Service Department ticket system for accuracy and approvals.
- Keep your vehicle inventory dialed‑in for first‑call completions and local parts sales.
- Return unused parts per DEUTZ Power Center guidelines; assist with warranty claims and invoicing.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and service truck that meets DOT requirements.
- Partner with the Service Supervisor, Parts team, engineering/warranty, new engine sales, and customers.
- Uphold all company policies, including travel and company credit card procedures.
- Pitch in to keep the facility organized and customer‑ready. Other duties as assigned.
Are you a match?
- Experienced with NG/CNG diagnosis and Tier 3–4 emissions systems (preferred).
- Known for rapidly mastering DEUTZ diesel engine platforms.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Meet local/state/company requirements to operate a company‑assigned service vehicle.
- Strong communicator — written, in person, and over the phone.
- Proficient with computers and portable diagnostic tools.
- Bring your own tools; key DEUTZ tools supplied.
Minimum requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to maintain DOT medical card status.
- Valid driver’s license; insurable by the company.
- 4+ years as a shop technician or 2+ years as a field service technician.
Preferred
- 2+ years of diesel engine experience.
- 2–5 years of construction equipment repair experience.
- Experience with Serdia, Serpic, Fieldaware, Word, and Excel.
- Relevant certifications/training in heavy equipment and diesel repair.
Travel and environment
Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 100% depending on business needs within the region.
Manufacturing assembly and warehouse environments. Subject to noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures. No A/C.
