Chief of Staff

About the Role

This is a high-leverage generalist role sitting directly next to the CEO at a pre-seed AI-native insurtech startup disrupting the US consumer insurance market. The Chief of Staff owns whatever is most critical that week — fundraising, operations, GTM strategy, analytics, partnerships, or product direction. The scope is intentionally broad and changes constantly.

You will ramp through early projects closely with the CEO, then quickly build toward high agency: own a project, solve it yourself first, then systematize, automate, or hand it off to future hires. If you thrive on a blank canvas and genuine ownership, this is one of the best seats in New York right now.

What You'll Do

  • Support fundraising end-to-end: investor research, deck iterations, data room management, and follow-up coordination
  • Own operational projects from start to finish: vendor evaluation, hiring pipeline buildout, and process design
  • Analyze data to surface insights across lead conversion, unit economics, and carrier performance
  • Support GTM strategy: lead generation, partnership outreach, and carrier relationship management
  • Draft investor updates, internal documentation, and external communications independently
  • Build out early-stage projects yourself, then systematize or automate and hand off to future hires
  • Jump into whatever is most urgent that week — expect variety and pace

What We're Looking For

  • Required: 1–3 years of experience in operations, strategy, finance, or consulting; exceptional new grads from top-tier programs considered
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Strong analytical ability: comfortable building financial models and working in advanced Excel/Google Sheets
  • Excellent written communication: can draft an investor email, internal brief, or partner note without oversight
  • Proven experience with fundraising or investor relations execution
  • Experience supporting or scaling sales/GTM teams
  • Ability to own end-to-end projects with minimal direction — a true self-starter
  • High integrity and discretion; this is a right-hand role where trust is paramount
  • Proficiency with core tools: Google Workspace, Excel, CRM and basic analytics platforms
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to ambiguity
  • Nice to have: Background from top-tier firms (e.g. Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Bain, BCG) or elite institutions

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 – $180,000 USD annually
  • Early-stage equity opportunity
  • High-visibility role with direct CEO exposure and significant career acceleration

Location

  • Based in New York City, NY — on-site role, in-person attendance required
