Senior Sales & New Product Development Manager

We are seeking an innovative, proactive senior leader to drive new automotive program acquisition and launch activities. This role provides strategic oversight of Sales, New Product Development, Pricing, Design, and Quality functions to ensure successful execution of new model programs from concept through production.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position supports a Tier One automotive supplier serving major OEM customers. The organization specializes in the design and production of advanced lighting systems and electronic components, with integrated engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customer support operations located in the United States.

KEY LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic leadership across Sales, New Product Development, Pricing, Design, and Quality Assurance functions

  • Direct, support, and develop team members while setting clear objectives and measuring performance

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, processes, and methods

  • Develop strategic growth plans aligned with departmental goals and budget targets

  • Maximize operating profitability related to pricing strategy, production cost, quality, and manufacturing methods

  • Oversee customer account management to maintain strong relationships, contracts, and program amendments

  • Identify and propose new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers

  • Lead commercial and technical negotiations for new model programs

  • Develop and execute cost-down strategies to meet annual customer targets

  • Lead planning and execution of new model program milestones and deliverables

  • Oversee assurance, reliability, validation, and regulatory testing activities

  • Ensure capability to meet all customer specifications through proper scheduling, staffing, and equipment planning

  • Monitor warranty performance and implement corrective actions to reduce risk and cost

  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and recognition to team members

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and work instructions

  • Assume additional responsibilities as business needs evolve

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • 15+ years of automotive industry experience, including design engineering, production, product development, customer relations, negotiations, and quality

  • 10+ years of leadership experience at the manager or senior manager level

  • Experience applying customer specifications and regulatory requirements in a new product environment

  • Strong negotiation and customer relationship management skills

  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Experience creating, managing, and monitoring budgets

  • Ability to read and interpret product drawings

  • Experience with laboratory testing and validation activities

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General office environment approximately 6 hours per day

  • Manufacturing environment approximately 1 hour per day

  • Laboratory environment approximately 1 hour per day

  • Occasional overnight travel required

  • Overtime may be required to meet customer and program deadlines

POTENTIAL HAZARDS

  • Travel by car or air

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts

  • Moderate noise levels with required hearing protection in designated areas

  • Exposure to test chemicals and heat requiring proper PPE
