Drive Operational Excellence in a Sustainability-Focused Packaging Plant
At Pratt Industries, sustainability and performance go hand in hand. As the Production Excellence Manager (reporting to the Plant Manager), you’ll stay close to the production floor to lead people, processes, and performance—raising quality, throughput, and reliability while mentoring the next generation of supervisors.
Imagine this challenge
You arrive to a review of overnight KPIs: output, scrap, downtime, and shipments. You meet with your leads, align on constraints, redeploy resources, and launch countermeasures. By midday, you’re coaching a new supervisor through structured problem-solving; in the afternoon, you’re auditing a GMP/SOP adherence point and closing the loop on a safety observation. Throughout, you’re translating division strategy into actionable steps for your team.
What you will own
- Production performance that consistently meets customer expectations for quality, flexibility, and on-time shipping.
- Capacity gains, waste and cost reduction, and asset utilization improvements.
- Operational systems that set standards, track KPIs, and continuously optimize productivity, quality, and safety.
- Talent pipeline: recruiting, training, and developing plant staff with a focus on leadership readiness.
- Regular communication cadences to share company goals, initiatives, and progress.
- Strategic participation in plant/company processes, including expense management and cost-avoidance programs.
- Customer-centric culture building—internally and externally.
- Turning departmental vision into specific actions with owners and due dates.
Safety as a strategy
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and plant safety protocols (e.g., lockout tag out) and partner with the Safety Team/Committee.
- Model safe behaviors and hold leaders accountable to clear safety expectations.
- Continuously elevate safety through proactive improvements across operations.
Experience and skills you bring
