Lean Manufacturing Manager – Fabrication Cell

  • Greenwood, IN
  • 85,000 - 100,000 USD Annually

Are You Ready to Run a Best-in-Class Fabrication Cell?

Do you thrive on turning a complex schedule into smooth, predictable flow? Can you coach teams across multiple shifts, keep a tight handle on quality, and still move fast? If that sounds like you, this role puts you in the driver’s seat of our fabrication operation.

Picture This

The day starts with a cross-shift huddle. You post daily work assignments, confirm staffing, and set targeted overtime to protect commitments. On your walk, you spot a 5S gap and a potential nonconformance—within minutes you run a Layered Process Audit, launch a fix, and escalate appropriately. Midday, Maintenance and Engineering sync with you on a tooling concern while you adjust the plan to keep product flowing at established lead-times. Before close, you document coaching notes, update attendance records, and debrief leadership on key developments.

What You’ll Own

  • Production schedules across all shifts, including posting daily assignments, setting overtime, and aligning staffing and cross-training plans.
  • Day-to-day compliance with Avalign requirements and FDA QSR; ensure team members are trained in GMP, EHS, and Quality Systems.
  • Quality discipline: spot checks, 5S audits, and Layered Process Audits; initiate corrections and verify effectiveness.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives aimed at throughput, first-pass yield, and safety.
  • Flow management: identify constraints and remove barriers to maintain planned lead-times through the manufacturing cell.
  • People leadership for hourly operators and team leads: interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance reviews, rewards, and discipline.
  • Accurate time, attendance, and documentation, along with fair, consistent problem resolution.
  • Serving as the department point person for Facilities, Maintenance, HR, Quality, and Engineering; provide manufacturing feedback to the Engineering Change process.
  • Daily production review walks; drive corrective actions and escalate when needed.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in biomedical/medical device and/or military settings.
  • 8+ years across industry, military, and/or related roles (manufacturing, quality, logistics); equivalent blends of education/experience considered.
  • Leadership experience preferred (military leadership counts).
  • Self-starter, fast learner, dependable communicator, and team-first mindset.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute work across teams and shifts.

What You Won’t Deal With
