Professional operational experience in a gas plant or combined cycle plant
Experience with power system studies
Understanding and familiarity of NERC standards (do not need to be NERC certified)
Must come from a prior utility company
Job Description:
We are seeking an electrical engineer for a 3 year contract to hire opportunity to join the generation engineering team at a large utility company. It can be expected that this engineer has experience in natural gas processing or gas plant operations to support the design, analysis, and reliability of electrical systems within our facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on operational knowledge of gas plant environments, experience conducting power system studies, and familiarity with applicable NERC standards and compliance requirements. Responsibilities include performing and reviewing power system studies (including load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, motor starting, and coordination studies), and supporting electrical system reliability and asset integrity through system evaluations, upgrades, and preventative maintenance strategies. It can also be expected that this engineer will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve electrical issues impacting plant reliability and safety.
