What your day looks like
You clock in before sunrise, review the day’s traveler, and pull up prints for a series of turned parts. You set up a conventional lathe, select tooling, dial in speeds and feeds, and take the first cuts. Throughout the morning, you verify dimensions with micrometers and calipers, make fine adjustments, and record critical measurements. By midday, you’re threading features to spec, deburring, and ensuring each component meets tolerance. Before you wrap, you clean the station, restock tooling, and hand off a tidy workspace for the next run.
