Outdoor Structures Installation Specialist (Independent Contractor)

Own Your Day: Independent Outdoor Assembly Pro

Imagine starting your morning with a clear route, finished projects on your schedule, and weekly settlements hitting your account. As an independent contractor partnering with AIT Home Delivery (a division of AIT Worldwide Logistics), you’ll deliver and assemble backyard structures for homeowners while building your own book of business.

Earnings: Potential to earn $40K–$100K+ annually, depending on volume, market, and the contracts you accept. Paid weekly.

How work flows

  • Opportunities are offered by work type across 46 states—you choose which projects to accept based on availability in your area.
  • Most projects are completed by a two-person crew (bring a qualified helper).
  • Reliable transportation is essential; vehicle requirements vary by job.
  • You’ll be the face of AIT on-site—professional communication and excellent customer service are key.

What you build

You’ll assemble large outdoor products at customers’ homes. For basketball hoop installations, a pickup, van, or small box truck is typically required.

  • Playsets
  • Pergolas
  • Gazebos
  • Sheds
  • In-ground basketball hoops

A day in the life

You and your helper arrive on time, review the manufacturer’s specs, unload tools, and construct a backyard feature to exact standards. You communicate progress with the customer, confirm placement, and complete a quality check before wrapping up and heading to your next scheduled job.

What you bring

  • An appropriate vehicle for the project type (pickup, van, box truck, or similar as needed)
  • A dependable helper to form a two-person team
  • Your own hand and power tools, plus the skill to build precisely to manufacturer specifications
  • An EIN (federal tax ID)
  • Active insurance and current vehicle registration
  • If operating a vehicle with a GVWR over 10,000 lbs., you may need DOT/MC numbers
  • Compliance with all applicable state laws for the vehicle used to complete the work
  • Comfort with mobile apps and photos for job documentation
  • Strong customer-service mindset and clear communication
