Pay Range: $21.50 – $23.50 per hour + Monthly Bonus
A Day in the Shop
Start your day by checking the service schedule in our shop software, greeting customers dropping off equipment, and opening new service orders. You’ll dive into diagnostics using testing instruments, troubleshooting guides, and manufacturer repair manuals to pinpoint issues accurately and efficiently.
From there, you’ll repair, tune, and maintain a wide variety of machines used in the commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface-prep industries, including:
- 2-, 3- & 4-cylinder gas engines (basic automotive knowledge helpful)
- Truck-mounted carpet cleaning units
- Portable carpet extractors
- Hard-surface floor cleaning machines
- Duct cleaning equipment
- Deodorizing units
- Dehumidifiers
- Air scrubbers and air movers
- HEPA vacuums
Throughout the day you’ll collaborate with fellow technicians, coordinate the shop workload, and keep your bay clean, organized, and safe—all while meeting (or beating) quality and productivity goals.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair equipment systems and components with precision and speed.
- Use testing tools, troubleshooting guides, and OEM manuals correctly.
- Identify and communicate additional service needs for customer equipment.
- Create service orders, bids, and estimates; present repair options to customers.
- Schedule service and repair appointments and manage them in scheduling software.
- Communicate with customers in person, by phone, and via email.
- Order parts, coordinate with vendors, and track parts status.
- Maintain and properly use shop tools and equipment.
- Assist other technicians and store staff; take direction from supervisors.
- Coordinate repair workflow with teammates to balance shop capacity.
What You Bring
- 2+ years’ experience preferred in any of the following: commercial cleaning/restoration equipment; small engine repair/maintenance; pressure washer repair/maintenance; or vehicle repair/maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean MVR with no DUIs or careless/reckless driving in the past 3 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Personal basic mechanic’s tool set.
- Strong technical aptitude, mechanical skills, and attention to detail.
- Proven diagnostic and problem-solving ability.
- Safe work habits at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE).
- Consistency in producing quality work on schedule.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly.
- Professional appearance; clear written and verbal communication; basic computer skills.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a bonus.
