We’re seeking a
**Quality Engineer/CMM Programmer
**to take a hands-on lead in driving product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced precision CNC machining environment.
This role will play a key part in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), supporting inspections, leading problem-solving initiatives, and ensuring all parts meet customer specifications,
AS9100 standards, and
NADCAP requirements.
You’ll work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Leadership to improve processes, reduce defects, and ensure consistent product excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), procedures, and documentation
- Support receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance and quality standards
- Lead APQP activities, FAIs (AS9102), and quality planning for new products and engineering changes
- Investigate non-conformances and manage corrective actions using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and root cause tools
- Support MRB processes and disposition of non-conforming material
- Prepare for and support customer,
**AS9100,
**and
NADCAP audits, including follow-ups
- Develop inspection plans, control plans, and process controls
- Track and improve KPIs such as scrap, rework, PPM, and customer complaints
- Implement and manage SPC programs to monitor process capability
- Support cross-functional projects including FMEA, risk management, and process validation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and quality operations
Required Experience & Skills as the
Quality Engineer/Supervisor:
- 3–7+ years of Quality Engineering or QA experience in precision manufacturing
(5 Axis CNC machining needed)
- Strong working knowledge of
AS9100 and NADCAP
environments
- Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
- Hands-on experience with inspection tools including
CMM (Zeiss preferred), micrometers, calipers, and comparators
- Strong knowledge of quality tools: APQP, SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a high-mix, fast-paced shop environment
- Strong data analysis and Excel skills (ERP/MRP such as Global Shop is a plus)
