CDL‑B Straight Truck Delivery Specialist — Insulation Supply
Location: Waukesha, WI 53186
Pay: $22–$24 per hour (based on experience)
A day in the role
You start your morning by reviewing the route, walking through a thorough pre‑trip inspection, and teaming with the warehouse to stage insulation and related building materials. With a clean cab and a well‑organized load, you head out on a planned schedule, operating a CDL‑B straight truck under DOT rules. On site, you deliver professionally, verify paperwork, capture customer signatures, and communicate any site conditions back to the team. Between runs, you may help in the warehouse—loading, unloading, and keeping inventory areas tidy—before returning equipment clean and ready for the next day.
What you’ll do
- Deliver insulation and building products to local job sites safely and on time
- Load, unload, and stage materials for daily routes; assist warehouse team between deliveries
- Operate in full compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards on a set schedule
- Complete daily pre‑trip inspections and support minor vehicle upkeep as needed
- Report maintenance or mechanical concerns to management promptly
- Accurately process delivery tickets, bills of lading, customer‑signed receipts, and COD transactions when required
- Communicate job‑site or customer service issues encountered during deliveries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck, equipment, and work areas
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you bring
- Valid CDL Class B in good standing
- 2+ years of verifiable driving experience in the last 5 years operating a straight truck or tractor/trailer
- Current DOT medical card
- Acceptable driving record under insurance guidelines and continuous valid driver’s license
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle building materials
- Reliability, safety focus, and strong customer service with attention to detail
