Senior System Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior System Engineer to manage and operate IT systems and infrastructure, including systems administration, updates, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting — in line with approved policies and procedures to ensure continuity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all installed IT systems and infrastructure

• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools

• Apply quality-control procedures to ensure systems remain efficient and operational

• Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks, and work with developers on fixes

• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems

• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve issues

• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing 2nd/3rd-level support

• Conduct root-cause analysis for service interruptions and establish preventive measures

• Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions

• Write and maintain scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention

• Carry out related data/information exchange communications

• Perform other related tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT systems administration and management

• Proven hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based environments and virtualization platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, or equivalent

• Prior experience delivering projects for government or public-sector clients in the Middle East

• Fluency in Arabic and English
