You’ll report to the Quality Supervisor and work 100% on site, collaborating daily with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing to keep production aligned with codes, procedures, and engineering direction.
What you’ll do
- Verify incoming materials: raw stock, components, and castings—confirm to spec using visual and mechanical checks.
- Execute in-process inspections per engineering specifications during manufacturing.
- Make formal accept/reject decisions and document the rationale against engineering criteria.
- Process scrap per procedures and engineering instructions when parts do not conform.
- Build complete, accurate inspection logs, reports, and records.
- Champion safety by adhering to standards, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Manage and verify calibration of measurement tools; notify the team of repair needs.
- Run NDT methods including UT, PT, RT, VT, and MT.
- Perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections.
- Confirm implementation of the Quality Program and represent quality during internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
What you’ll bring
- High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of college/technical schooling, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on inspection experience.
- Fluency with engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical documentation.
- Specialization in UT or RT.
- NDE certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with Farrow measuring equipment.
- Ability to obtain certifications as needed.
- Ability to maintain nine qualification levels, including Mechanical Inspection, Weld Surveillance, Liquid Penetrant II, and Magnetic Particle II, in accordance with qualification criteria. If Weld Surveillance, Liquid Penetrant II, and Magnetic Particle II cannot be attained and maintained, a substitute qualification selected by the Company may be pursued.
- Comfort reading shop drawings and interpreting sketches.
