Step into a day on our industrial floor
You arrive at Wentzville Assembly ready to keep production humming. Under minimal supervision, you’ll dive into complex control systems, lay out and install power and control circuits, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the plant’s electrical infrastructure. Your quick diagnostics prevent downtime; your craftsmanship keeps our lines safe, reliable, and compliant with OSHA and GM standards.
What you’ll tackle
- Apply and enforce OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain, repair, and optimize electrical equipment and systems across the facility.
- Diagnose faults in machinery and related components; implement rapid corrective actions to avert production delays.
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance for plant electrical assets, including complex circuits and control systems.
- Interpret electrical drawings and wiring schematics to plan and perform work accurately.
- Collaborate across departments, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Bring strong analytical and problem-solving ability to every task.
What you bring
- Six (6) or more years of Electrician experience, or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade.
- Age 18 or older.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules (day/afternoon/night), plus overtime, weekends, and holidays with short notice.

- This opening may be filled at Journeyperson In Training (JIT) or Journeyperson level. JIT compensation: $37.78 – $44.08; Journeyperson rate: $44.98. Certificates/credentials and interview scoring determine status and pay.
Physical demands
- Respond swiftly to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
- Stand and work for extended periods; navigate a busy production environment.
- Wear required personal protective equipment comfortably.
- Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach as work requires.
- Lift or carry up to 50 lbs., depending on department needs.
- Occasional sitting for specific tasks.
- Operate mobile equipment when needed.
Compensation & benefits
General Motors UAW hourly employment offers a very competitive compensation and benefit package. An annual incentive payout is also available, as qualified.
Relocation and travel expenses are the responsibility of the applicant.
