Launch your machining career where it matters most—on the shop floor with advanced CNC equipment and hands-on mentorship. As a CNC Machining Trainee, you’ll learn shoulder-to-shoulder with seasoned operators, building confidence with each setup, cycle, and inspection.

A day in the life

It’s the start of your shift in our Phoenix, AZ facility. You meet with a senior machinist to review the day’s engineering drawings. Together, you prepare milling and turning centers—loading tools, checking offsets, and confirming the program against the print. You watch the first part come off the machine, measure key features, and make minor adjustments under guidance to dial in quality and efficiency. Between runs, you top off coolant, clear chips, and perform basic preventive checks. You keep your station spotless, document what you’re learning, and follow safety protocols every step of the way.

What you’ll practice and support

  • Assist with setting up and running CNC machines under the direction of experienced operators.
  • Learn to interpret blueprints and technical drawings to verify correct tooling, features, and dimensions.
  • Monitor machine cycles, checking part quality and production efficiency throughout the run.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment as trained.
  • Keep a clean, well-organized workstation to maintain flow and safety.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Your foundation

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Genuine interest in machining and modern manufacturing.
  • Comfort with basic math and mechanical concepts.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Coachability and willingness to learn from experienced team members.
