Step into the heartbeat of production
As our Industrial Maintenance Electrician – Automation & Controls, you’ll be the first call when a line hiccups and the last safeguard before equipment returns to full speed. Picture starting your shift with a brief handoff from the outgoing team, scanning the maintenance backlog, and prioritizing a mix of preventive tasks and high-urgency repairs. A sensor fault triggers a stoppage—you diagnose on the fly, reference schematics, connect to the PLC, verify VFD parameters, and bring the cell back online, minimizing downtime. Later, you’ll complete scheduled PMs, replace a worn servo motor, and document everything for traceability.
What you’ll do
- Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and production equipment to keep lines running safely and efficiently.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across machinery and support equipment.
- Diagnose root causes, determine required repairs, and execute replacements of mechanical and/or electrical components.
- Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, diagrams, and equipment manuals to guide decisions.
- Apply hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments confidently and safely.
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns and work to reduce production downtime.
- Complete assigned preventive maintenance on schedule.
- Follow all plant safety procedures, including strict lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Accurately document maintenance actions, findings, and parts used.
- Collaborate closely with production operators and fellow maintenance teammates.
- Take on additional maintenance duties as assigned.
What you bring
- Hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Sharp troubleshooting instincts and methodical problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working around industrial machinery and automated production equipment.
- Ability to read and apply technical documentation, prints, and schematics.
- Willingness to work in a UAW/union manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Flexibility to support required shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
Preferred exposure
- Background in automotive or other high-volume manufacturing.
- Experience with industrial maintenance on production assets.
- Proven capability troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Prior work experience in a union facility.
