CNC Laser Operator

Aegis is partnered with a growing manufacturing facility in Lake Zurich is looking for a Laser Operator to run and support production on CNC laser cutting equipment. This role is hands-on in the fabrication department cutting stainless steel parts used in custom equipment builds.

This shop is clean, bright, and extremely organized, with tons of cross-training and teamwork. If you take pride in precision cutting and problem-solving on the fly, this is a great opportunity to grow long-term.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines

• Load jobs, select programs, and adjust machine parameters

• Perform laser head calibration and minor machine maintenance

• Inspect parts for accuracy and proper cut quality

• Troubleshoot issues with cut quality, nesting, and material feed

• Read and interpret blueprints and BOMs

• Assist with sheet loading, deburring, and skeleton removal when needed

Requirements

• 1–5+ years laser cutting experience

• Experience with thin stainless steel (22-gauge ideal)

• Ability to read blueprints and follow specs

• Familiarity with G-code or CAM program selection

• Team-focused mindset and willingness to cross-train
