Responsibilities:
- Must be able to comply with facility safety regulations, including wearing of proper PPE, and following general required facility safety practices
- Ability to perform time-sensitive work, with focus on work quality and reliability
- Address any emergency calls while on the job site, particularly relating to production-sensitive items
- Must be able to work independently and/or with other teams of varying disciplines
- Ability to effectively communicate with floor operators to understand equipment-related malfunctions, failures, and general defects
- Must have the ability to identify and troubleshoot machine/equipment/tooling (molds & dies) and system issues, and be able to effectively communicate findings to operations and management
- Perform all basic mechanical (electrical a plus), PM work on all systems in an efficient and timely manner
- Perform set-up and tooling changeovers on thermoforming equipment to meet validation requirements – this would include press spins, platen parallelism measurements, etc. in an efficient and timely manner
- Responsible for operating thermoformers when needed for maintenance, set-up, or production needs as situations dictate
- Train other employees on maintenance, set-up, and changeover job duties to an effective level of performance
- Communicate improvement opportunities to the technical group
- All checklists and other paperwork (including electronic) accurately completed in a timely manner
- Perform all tooling (Die & Mold) set-up/changeover prep jobs
- Run samples in support of the Process Technician and in the absence of the Process Technician to meet product specification requirements
Qualifications:
- Practical knowledge and ability to use basic hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and heavy equipment
- Ability to operate mobile equipment, including forklifts and scissor-lifts
- Ability to understand and execute technical directives
- Ability to understand and interpret mechanical schematics and/or manuals
- Good working knowledge of mechanical devices and linkages, conveying systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills on cooling towers, compressed air systems, and water chillers/heat exchangers
- Working knowledge of rigging techniques and general machinery handling
- General building maintenance knowledge
- General understanding and ability to use HMI controls
- Basic electrical knowledge (troubleshooting/repairs) a plus
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to operate tooling-associated equipment as it relates to tool maintenance & prep
