Ready to run Haas mills and see different work every night?
Join our Greenwood, IN team on third shift and own the setup-through-inspection workflow on 3- and 4-axis VMCs, with exposure to 5+ axis equipment.
What you’ll take on
- Translate blueprints, sketches, and operation plans into tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies.
- Prep tools and validate fixtures against dimensions, depths, angles, and other specs.
- Install and align workholding and toolholders; load cutters into the magazine.
- Retrieve programs by loading control media (tape/card/disk) or entering commands to access the database.
- Set offsets and regulate feeds, speeds, depths of cut, and coolant.
- Conduct prove-outs; perform manual programming during setups only with Supervisor approval.
- Run, monitor, and measure; pause as needed to swap tools, adjust setups, or verify tolerances.
- Address alarms or out-of-tolerance conditions with command edits or manual control tweaks.
- Switch to manual operation when automation falls short; partner with Supervisors/programmers to resolve control media issues.
- Clean machines, tooling, and parts; complete routine maintenance.
- Follow safety procedures and PPE guidance; help train new hires.
Bring these qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and 1 year of relevant experience/training.
- Ability to understand written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions.
- Shop math skills: fractions, decimals, and unit conversions.
- Fluency in reading prints and operation sheets.
- Proven CNC setup/operation and data entry/maintenance in Traverse Manufacturing System.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- GD&T and blueprint reading proficiency.
