Your Mission
Own a defined raw material portfolio and ensure it fuels our compounding operations with excellence. You’ll architect protocols, qualify alternatives, and lead cross-functional execution while keeping regulatory and environmental standards front and center.
Core Responsibilities
- Own and manage assigned raw material categories to achieve optimal performance, cost control, and sustainability outcomes.
- Lead evaluation, approval, and implementation of new and replacement materials across our global network.
- Design and maintain robust testing protocols, specifications, packaging requirements, and documentation.
- Champion safety, cost engineering, and sustainability; adopt digital and AI tools to accelerate decisions.
- Plan and execute laboratory testing; interpret data and deliver clear, actionable summaries.
- Coordinate global trials to align chemistries and business unit needs.
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory, environmental, and testing standards.
- Manage material deactivations; advise Production on performance and suitability.
- Review SDS and assess risks and opportunities presented by alternative materials.
- Provide leadership with timely updates on status, risks, and implementation timelines.
- Lead or support cross-functional projects with R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, and EHS.
- Develop supplier partnerships; negotiate enhancements in quality, cost, and sustainability.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and shifting regulations.
- Serve as backup for teammates and take on additional duties as needed.
Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field; or 4–6 years of related technical experience.
- Experience with mechanical/physical testing and lab data analysis.
- Analytical, problem-solving mindset; comfortable with complex technical datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; effective across regions and disciplines.
- Project management and organizational strengths managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Proven ability to craft clear, concise technical reports.
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred (training available).
- Exposure to digital and AI-driven material management tools is a plus.
