Nuclear Process Instrumentation Technologist (I&C)

WECTEC Staffing Services—part of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC—is seeking a Nuclear Process Instrumentation Technologist to support a full-time, long-term contract onsite with our client in Bridgman, MI. Join a team advancing Westinghouse’s clean energy mission.

Role highlights

  • Hands-on work with electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic process instrumentation in a nuclear setting.
  • Inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of microprocessor-controlled radiation monitoring systems and electronic nuclear instrumentation systems.
  • Network-centric diagnostics: configure, monitor, and troubleshoot wireless networks, servers, and related computer systems.
  • Precision calibration of transmitters, indicators, converters, and switches; validation of PA/telephone systems; verification of heat trace circuits and trace control units.
  • Repair work on alarm modules, electronic/pneumatic controllers, microprocessor-based recorders, and control relays.
  • Diagnostics and repair for solid-state reactor protection, rod control, and rod position indication systems.
  • Execution of design changes: wiring modifications, cable testing, terminations, drawing updates, and installation of tubing, piping, and fittings.
  • Data-driven collaboration with engineers and vendor specialists on troubleshooting, adjustments, and system testing.
  • Clear reporting of damaged/out-of-spec equipment and abnormal conditions.
  • Input and verification for Test Procedure development; planning support via work package reviews and walkdowns.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • 2+ years in I&C or a related technical field.
  • Ability to interpret electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and flow diagrams.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Be able to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD products), and employment testing.
  • Meets criteria to be qualified to work within a radiological controlled area.

Compensation & benefits

We value transparency and equity. Base pay is estimated at $30/hour to $45/hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
