Rolling Mill Hydraulic & Lubrication Systems Technician

A day in this role

Step onto the floor of a brand-new, world-class steel mill in Apple Grove, West Virginia. As a direct-hire member of a globally recognized OEM’s on-site team (recruited in partnership with Mural), you’ll keep mission-critical hydraulic and lubrication systems running flawlessly during commissioning, ramp-up, and long-term operations.

What you’ll do

• Install, commission, inspect, adjust, and maintain hydraulic and centralized lubrication systems across heavy rolling mill equipment.
• Work on systems and components including: hydraulic power units (HPUs); servo and proportional valve circuits; hydraulic cylinders and accumulators; high-pressure piping and fittings; centralized oil and grease lubrication for gearboxes, roll bearings, and roll necks; filtration skids; distribution manifolds; and hydraulic fluid cleanliness/quality management.
• Read hydraulic schematics and P&IDs, trace circuit faults, perform planned preventive maintenance, and respond to urgent troubleshooting needs.

What you’ll bring

• Hands-on industrial hydraulic maintenance experience with HPUs, valves, cylinders, and high-pressure circuits (above 1,500 PSI).
• Background with centralized lubrication systems for gearboxes, bearings, and roll necks (oil and grease).
• Ability to interpret hydraulic schematics and P&IDs.
• Experience in a steel mill, aluminum rolling mill, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Exposure to servo or proportional hydraulic valves is a significant plus.
• Comfort operating on rotating shifts in a demanding heavy industrial setting.
• Reliable transportation to Apple Grove, WV (Mason County—approximately 40 miles north of Huntington, WV).

Compensation & employment

• $32–$42 per hour, based on experience.
