Reports to: Quality & Safety Manager
Your Impact
- Inspection Execution: Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to customer specs using calibrated equipment; record results per defined procedures.
- Contract-to-Process Alignment: Review customer contracts/specifications against manufacturing documentation to ensure all obligations are identified and fulfilled.
- Metrology & Calibration: Calibrate and maintain precision instruments following work instructions; keep calibration due dates current for employee, customer-supplied, and company-owned assets.
- Documentation & Shipping: Complete the documentation needed to certify product conformance at shipment.
- Root Cause & Disposition: Process nonconforming product and assist in determining root cause in line with standard work.
- Training & Collaboration: Help train teammates to elevate inspection capability across the shop.
- Inspection Planning: Convert customer requirements into accurate inspection criteria.
- Equipment Care: Conduct preventive maintenance on all inspection equipment.
- Admin Accuracy: Complete paperwork and production reporting, including time, attendance, and inventory.
- 6S & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace using 6S; perform scheduled internal 6S audits; follow all safety policies and regulations.
- Perform other tasks as requested.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 4 years of experience in quality control or machining.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and logistics administration.
- Proven experience with optical comparators and profilometers.
- Expert blueprint reading with advanced GD&T; exposure to military specifications.
- Background in lean and quality systems preferred: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, and AS9100D.
- CMM operation and troubleshooting experience required; Zeiss Calypso preferred.
- Comfort with ERP and quality software interfaces preferred.
- Strong mathematics, computer literacy, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Skilled communicator; team-oriented and motivated by challenging problems.
