A day in this role
- Prepare and dial-in CNC vertical mills, building fixtures and selecting tooling to meet job specs.
- Translate engineering drawings and schematics into efficient machining steps; verify dimensions before first cut.
- Run parts with vigilant in-process checks, adjusting offsets and feeds/speeds to hold quality.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues to keep spindles turning.
- Follow all safety procedures and keep your area spotless and production-ready.
- Share ideas to tighten cycle times, improve surface finish, and enhance repeatability.
- Accurately record production results, setups, and any deviation or corrective actions.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional machining coursework or certification preferred.
- Hands-on success as a CNC machinist (milling focus) or closely related role.
- Fluency interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of CNC programming concepts and control operation.
- Self-starter who collaborates well across shifts and disciplines.
- Sharp attention to detail and pragmatic problem-solving.
- Commitment to safety practices and rigorous quality standards.
