Industrial Rigid Tubing Fabrication Specialist

Your day building high-performance machines

Step onto the build floor and turn prints into precision. You’ll shape, fit, and install steel and stainless-steel hard lines that bring industrial machinery and machine tool equipment to life. From planning routes to final inspection, your craftsmanship ensures clean, reliable, and serviceable installations.

Note: This role focuses on rigid tubing and hard-line systems rather than hose assembly. You’ll rely on your blueprint fluency and bending expertise to hit exact machine specifications.

What a typical day looks like

  • Review blueprints, schematics, and machine drawings to determine tubing routes and connection points.
  • Select steel or stainless-steel tubing, measure, cut, and prep for installation.
  • Execute precise hand-bending and bench-bending to achieve accurate radii and orientations.
  • Install and connect rigid hard-line systems for pneumatic, hydraulic, coolant, and lubrication circuits.
  • Collaborate with machine builders, electricians, and other skilled trades throughout equipment assembly.
  • Verify each run for fit, routing clarity, and overall quality; test systems and locate any leaks.
  • Document work as needed and uphold established safety and quality procedures.

Core responsibilities

  • Bend, fit, route, and install steel and stainless-steel tubing to machine specifications.
  • Perform hand and bench bending with consistency and repeatability.
  • Read and interpret prints to complete installations according to design intent.
  • Inspect completed work for proper fit, routing, and quality.
  • Work alongside cross-functional trades during equipment assembly.
  • Follow established safety and quality procedures at all times.

What you bring

  • 7+ years of pipefitting or closely related skilled-trade experience.
  • Proficiency with steel and stainless-steel tubing, including strong hand- and bench-bending skills.
  • Required: experience with rigid/hard-line tubing (hose-only backgrounds do not qualify).
  • Background with pneumatic, hydraulic, coolant, and lubrication systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and machine drawings.
  • Strongly preferred: experience building or servicing CNC machine tools, special machines, robotics, or automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure, bend, fit, route, and install tubing to specification.
  • Experience testing piping systems and identifying leaks.
  • Skilled trade certification as a Pipefitter is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
  • Ability to mentor and provide on-the-job training to junior Pipefitters and apprentices.
