Metal Spinning Lathe Technician

Picture your day starting at 7:00 AM. You review a customer blueprint, select the right tooling, and bring a metal disc to life on a spinning lathe. Throughout the shift, you check dimensions with calipers and micrometers, make fine adjustments to keep tolerances tight, document results, and keep your station spotless and safe. If you enjoy hands-on work and want to learn a specialized trade, this role was built for you.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate metal spinning lathes to produce parts to customer specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to plan setups and verify requirements.
• Use precision tools—calipers, micrometers, and gauges—to confirm dimensions and quality.
• Perform and document in-process quality inspections; record measurements as required.
• Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment, setting up tools, and handling materials.
• Adjust tooling and parameters as needed to maintain consistent product quality.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience on metal spinning lathes or similar manufacturing equipment is helpful but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn—training is available.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments preferred.
• Solid basic math skills, including shop math and measurement conversions.
• Commitment to following instructions and safety procedures.
• Dependable, hardworking, and motivated to develop new skills.

• Position: Metal Spinning Machine Operator
• Location: Terre Haute, IN 47804
• Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM–3:45 PM
• Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour
