CNC/Laser Industrial Maintenance Specialist

About the Role

Picture your day starting with a quick walk-through of the production floor. You check a PM dashboard, prioritize a CNC vibration alert, and then move to a laser cutter that needs fine-tuning on its motion system. Before lunch, you complete a safe 480V three-phase power drop for a new workstation. In the afternoon, you dive into a Ransohoff flow-through parts washer calibration, swap a valve on a hydraulic circuit, and mentor a junior tech on interpreting wiring schematics. That’s a typical rhythm for our Industrial Maintenance Specialist.

What You’ll Tackle

  • Keep CNC machines, laser cutters, and other manufacturing systems running at peak performance through routine and complex maintenance.
  • Service finishing assets: blasters, bowl vibrators, and Ransohoff flow-through parts washers.
  • Build, document, and execute Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs for production and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using wiring diagrams; work confidently from 110V single-phase up to 480V three-phase.
  • Set up safe, effective workstation and equipment power drops for multiple voltage configurations.
  • Install and maintain industrial fans for process and plant ventilation or cooling.
  • Repair pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, including pumps, cylinders, valves, and controls.
  • Fabricate and weld (MIG, TIG, or Stick) guards, brackets, and custom components.
  • Read and apply mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Partner with engineering and operations to drive uptime and performance improvements.
  • Log detailed maintenance actions, PM schedules, and equipment service history.
  • Coach junior maintenance staff; model safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Follow safety regulations and company policies, reinforcing compliance on the floor.

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Proven electrical installation/modification skills from 110V to 480V.
  • Welding and metal fabrication skills (MIG/TIG preferred).
  • Experience installing/troubleshooting industrial ventilation systems and fans.
  • Familiarity with CMMS tools and digital maintenance records (plus).
  • Strong organization and communication; effective both independently and on a team.
