Role overview

  • Mid-level Product Engineer (2–8 years) contributing across the full stack for startups scaling product and infrastructure.
  • Compensation: $150,000 – $300,000+ base salary depending on experience; many roles include meaningful equity.

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end product features: scope requirements, design APIs and data models, implement frontend and backend code, and deploy to production.
  • Ship user-facing experiences that balance usability and performance; iterate quickly from user feedback and metrics.
  • Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into product flows so intelligence works reliably for end users.
  • Design and implement scalable backend services, data schemas, and operational tooling (CI/CD, monitoring, testing).
  • Collaborate directly with founders, product, and design to prioritize work, define success metrics, and deliver outcomes.
  • Participate in architecture and roadmap discussions; make pragmatic technical tradeoffs appropriate for early-stage growth.

Minimum qualifications

  • 2–8 years of software engineering experience, with proven delivery of shipped user-facing products.
  • Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript and React/Next.js plus backend experience in Python or Node.js.
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
  • Demonstrated product sense: you can translate user problems into practical, measurable solutions.
  • Experience integrating LLMs or other AI services into production applications (engineering, not research role).
  • Comfort operating in small teams with limited process and high ambiguity; ability to move between frontend, backend, and DevOps tasks.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience building multi-tenant or enterprise-ready systems.
  • Familiarity with API design, real-time systems, and scaling high-throughput applications.
  • Experience with Cursor or other AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Background in regulated industries (healthcare, fintech, legal) or building internal tools for complex domains.

What successful candidates value

  • Ownership: you deliver complete features, from database schema to deploy and monitoring.
  • User-centric engineering: you prioritize readable, maintainable code that meets real user needs.
  • Collaboration: you communicate clearly with product and design and incorporate feedback quickly.
  • Learning mindset: you adopt new tools and patterns that accelerate development while maintaining reliability.
