About the role

Picture your day starting at 7:00 am. You review your route, load up fresh coffee and tea, and hit the road to keep beverage stations stocked, spotless, and brewing perfectly. As a Coffee Route Sales & Merchandising Specialist, you jump in to provide route relief wherever needed, deliver and sell products, and make sure every stop is on-time and up to standard.

  • Follow the Farmer Brothers customer call process (The Farmer Brothers Way to Sell) to build loyalty; make proactive sales calls when time allows.
  • Ensure every account on your daily schedule receives required delivery and service.
  • Handle route paperwork: invoices, inventory counts, and collections—every day you’re on a route.
  • Grow Revenue per Stop by closing distribution voids on core items, executing seasonal and LTO promotions, applying pricing actions, and making sure beverage stations meet standards.
  • Escalate customer concerns quickly to the ASM (Area Sales Manager) and confirm resolution.
  • Call out route inefficiencies, customer dissatisfaction, or opportunities discovered while running relief.
  • Assist the ASM with inventory cycle counts, warehouse tasks, and customer follow-ups as assigned.
  • Learn brewing equipment basics to perform minor adjustments and simple repairs.
  • Pitch in on warehouse operations, accounts receivable collections, and customer service as needed.

Schedule & driving

  • Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm; overtime as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

  • Clean, strong driving record.
  • Route delivery experience is a plus.
  • Customer service background preferred.
  • Foodservice experience desired.

Skills for success

  • Mechanical aptitude with company hardware and software.
  • Sharp at assessing customer needs; uses active listening and clear communication.
  • Committed to company goals; uses sound business judgment and solid decision-making.
  • Spots issues and opportunities quickly; proactively grows the business.
  • Builds rapport and collaborative relationships with customers and teammates.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision; understands personal impact on others.
