Shipping Operations & Receiving Lead (Export/NAFTA)

What you’ll tackle
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare packing slips, Bills of Lading, and export documents as needed.
Perform final inspection of all company shipping paperwork.
Match signed BOLs to Sales orders and finalize BOLs when required.
Prepare certifications per Sales order requests.
Maintain information regarding NAFTA for export activity.
Carrier & Cost Coordination
Contact carriers when freight is ready; provide driving directions to carriers who call.
Utilize freight tables to verify correct shipping costs.
Process all UPS/FedEx shipments via computer.
Schedule inbound freight from the mills.
Floor Operations
Organize the shipping floor and stage daily shipments.
Match paperwork with each shipment.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
Load and unload turnstiles for the 50” slitter and CTL.
Assist with packaging of “As Is” orders.
Receiving & Quality
Assist with receiving incoming freight.
Support receiving and recording of non-conforming material.
Cross-Functional Support
Assist the Sales department with shipping issues.
Help customers resolve document issues—reprint, correct, and email.
Assist the Invoicing Clerk when needed.
Help train new personnel.
Housekeeping & Extras
General housekeeping in accordance with Traffic/Shipping expectations—sweep and keep areas tidy.
Keep scrap skids organized and deliver to the processor when a truckload is collected.
Other Shipping/Receiving duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed
High school diploma or GED.
3+ years of related experience/training or equivalent combination.
Preferred proficiency with: tape measure, micrometer, calipers, crane, fork lift truck, bander, band cutters, and side loader.
