Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Precision Machining & Welding

Your day in this role

Based at our Ogden, UT facility and working 100% onsite, you’ll report to the Supervisor of Maintenance. Your day starts with oral and written work instructions and a review of blueprints and drawings, then moves into hands-on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and process equipment to keep operations running.

Your impact

  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment using blueprints and other technical drawings.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including visual inspections to catch worn parts, potential malfunctions, and irregularities; maintain preventive maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot issues and replace or repair defective components to restore equipment to service.
  • Repair and service pumps, valves, blowers, compressors, vessels, conveyors, and other mechanical process equipment; fabricate equipment or components as needed.
  • Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and related machinist tools to make and repair parts.
  • Use hand tools (manual and power), material handling equipment, and gas and electric arc welding equipment.
  • Maintain a plant-wide lubrication program.
  • Coordinate area activities with the central maintenance shop; assist other maintenance technicians or engineers.
  • Train other craftsmen as assigned and periodically provide direction to lower-classified craftsmen.
  • Follow all safety rules, keep the work area clean, and return tools, unused materials, and written references to designated locations.

Equipment, materials, and environments you’ll encounter

  • Process equipment involving acids, alkaline fiberglass components, plastic and metal piping, fittings, and related materials.
  • Metal melting and fabrication equipment.
  • Lubricants, including oils and greases.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years of mechanical craft experience, including three (3) years in mechanical industrial maintenance.
  • Relevant education from a trade or technical school in industrial mechanical maintenance may count toward part of the experience requirement.

Reporting and location

Role is 100% onsite in Ogden, UT and reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance.
