A day in this role

You’ll begin by reviewing work orders, then dive into diagnostics using scan tools and fleet software. Some days you’ll tackle PMs and major repairs in the shop; other days you’ll roll out for a mobile call to get a box truck or tractor-trailer back in service roadside. You’ll road test to validate repairs and close the loop with accurate documentation—all in a clean, safety-focused environment.

What you’ll handle

  • Comprehensive diagnostics and repair on Class 4–8 trucks and municipal/public works vehicles
  • Preventive maintenance and major component work on engines, air/hydraulic brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Road tests, mobile/roadside service calls, and field support as needed
  • Creation and completion of work orders, parts/service documentation, and ordering support
  • Use of diagnostic tools to test and validate component performance

What you bring

  • 4+ years repairing medium/heavy duty trucks (Class 4–8); municipal/public works equipment experience required
  • Your own tools
  • Strong troubleshooting/diagnostic skills
  • Basic computer literacy or prior fleet software experience
  • CDL-B required
  • At least 1 ASE (Medium/Heavy Truck) or ability to earn within 90 days
  • Willingness to obtain a DOT Medical Card within 6 months (preferred)
  • Comfort with PMs, road tests, and full diagnostic/repair workflows (preferred)
  • Experience with work/service documentation and parts ordering (preferred)
