Production Technician

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic, optical and mechanical components, including soldering, wiring, fabricating, testing, inspecting and troubleshooting of metrology systems using various types of hand and power tools in accordance with the company’s specifications (product drawings and documents) and schedule.
  • Communicate / coordinate production schedule with the team Communicate Bills of Materials discrepancies Continuously seek and achieve costs savings through improved production processes (lean manufacturing, 55)
  • Work with the team to build, test and develop prototype and special order systems
  • Work with the team to design lower cost parts, components and assemblies.
  • Understand, implement and comply with Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Experience assembling electronic, optical, or mechanical components in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical work instructions.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, wiring, fabrication, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical or electronic assemblies.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly or production issues.
  • Experience supporting prototype builds, product development, or custom-order manufacturing projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards, safety procedures, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement initiatives, and process optimization is highly desirable.
