Founding Product Designer
About the Role
Join a bootstrapped, founder-led AI SaaS startup building the operating system for home-service businesses. As the founding product designer, you'll own the end-to-end design experience — from early discovery through shipped product — as the team scales its AI-powered back-office automation platform. This is a high-impact, 0-to-1 role where your work will directly shape how thousands of home-service operators run their businesses.
What You'll Do
- Define and own the product design function from the ground up, crafting elegant, intuitive interfaces for a fast-moving AI platform.
- Prototype rapidly using tools like Figma, Lovable, Cursor, or Webflow — and jump into React/TypeScript code when needed.
- Conduct customer interviews to deeply understand user needs and translate insights into great UX.
- Collaborate closely with founders and engineers in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
- Contribute across all design surfaces wherever the business needs it — UI, flows, brand, pitch assets, and beyond.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of product design experience, ideally including 0-to-1 startup projects (early-stage experience is a dealbreaker requirement).
- Demonstrated track record of building and shipping real products.
- Experience conducting customer interviews and translating research into design decisions.
- Proficiency in Figma for rapid UI design and prototyping; familiarity with Lovable, Cursor, or Webflow is a plus.
- Familiarity with React and TypeScript; ability to prototype in code or AI-assisted tools is strongly valued.
- Obsessive attention to beautiful, intuitive interfaces and great UX.
- Low ego, high ownership mindset — you thrive alongside intense, ambitious teammates.
- Based in Europe or the US; open to full-time employees or exceptional contractors.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $100,000 – $180,000 USD annually.
- Visa sponsorship available.
- Open to full-time hires and exceptional part-time or full-time contractors.
