Why this role matters

  • Keep complex industrial assets online by troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems—power transmission, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ensure automated machines, process equipment, and robots operate safely and consistently through inspections, adjustments, and repairs.
  • Drive reliability using failure analysis, preventive maintenance (PM), and predictive strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Execute precision bench repairs on production equipment and assemble/restore spare parts.
  • Document work thoroughly, manage spares, and share know-how by training fellow tradespeople when needed.
  • Support operations with rotating shifts, plus weekend/holiday coverage as required.
  • Contribute beyond the toolbox with tasks that advance the company’s 2025 Strategy.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Technology preferred—or comparable experience—and a passing score on the skilled trades assessment.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience across mechanical domains: power transmission, fluid power, and pneumatics.
  • Fluency with technical documentation (specs, procedures, prints) and the ability to deliver from verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication and organization; excellent mechanical aptitude and craftsmanship working to close tolerances.
  • Comfort using precision instruments such as torque wrenches, micrometers, Vernier calipers, and dial indicators; sound math skills for setups and dimensional calculations.
  • Preferred capabilities: fabricating, welding, or machining parts; operating shop equipment including hoists, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Proven attendance and a safety- and quality-first mindset.
  • Physical readiness: lift up to 75 lbs occasionally; work in confined spaces; climb ladders; work at heights up to 28 feet; wear a respirator.
  • Growth mindset with a desire to continuously deepen knowledge of plant equipment and systems.
