Senior Mechanical Systems Project Engineer

Lead complex mechanical programs from first sketch to factory floor

As a Senior Mechanical Systems Project Engineer, you’ll be the technical and organizational anchor for high-stakes builds. You’ll guide concepts into manufacturable designs, make decisive calls on tricky tradeoffs, and coach teammates so the whole group levels up.

A day in this role

Your morning might start by refining a model in SolidWorks, running a high-fidelity simulation to validate performance and reliability. Midday, you’re reviewing drawings and prototypes with electrical, software, and manufacturing partners. In the afternoon, you’re mentoring junior and mid-level engineers on best practices, then aligning clients and suppliers on scope, timeline, and budget to keep a large program on track. You close the day by capturing lessons learned to strengthen our engineering process.

What you’ll own

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced mechanical systems and products.
  • Oversee and manage large-scale engineering projects to plan—meeting timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Provide high-level technical expertise and set strategic direction on complex engineering challenges.
  • Conduct advanced simulations, testing, and analysis to drive performance and reliability improvements.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, models, and physical prototypes.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) and with clients and suppliers to ensure delivery success.
  • Mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers, sharing best practices and design techniques.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and advance continuous improvement across our engineering workflows.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with a strong record of project leadership.
  • Expert user of CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Deep knowledge of advanced mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Proven leadership, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and shifting priorities in parallel.
  • Experience guiding products through the full development lifecycle—from concept to production.
  • Hands-on familiarity with regulatory compliance and industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME).
