You’re on the floor in Richmond, VA when a conveyor stops. You isolate the issue, lock out the equipment, trace the fault to a motor starter, swap the component, and bring the line back up—safely and swiftly. That balance of prevention and rapid response is exactly what this Facilities Electromechanical Maintenance Specialist role is about.
Compensation & schedule: $22.38–$27.38 per hour with excellent benefits. Work four 10-hour shifts each week with early AM and early PM start times available.
Impact and responsibilities
- Lead with safety: follow procedures, spot hazards, and drive corrective actions.
- Execute preventive maintenance routines and inspections to extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical systems to restore performance quickly.
- Partner with production to maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Record PMs, repairs, and inspections with clarity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with peers and mentor junior technicians to raise team capability.
- Contribute to other operational needs as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical credentials preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience (or equivalent exposure).
- Solid mechanical aptitude; understanding of mechanical and electrical fundamentals.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting capability and comfort with standard hand tools.
- Team-oriented communicator who enjoys a fast-moving environment.
- Physically able to perform job tasks safely.
- Ability to operate forklifts and scissor lifts.
- Flexible availability, including some weekends and holidays.
