Manufacturing Facilities Utilities Mechanic

Your mission: protect uptime

The line can’t run without stable utilities. Imagine an air compressor trending hot, a cooling tower pump cavitating, and a rooftop unit alarming—all before first break. You triage, diagnose, and restore control. As our Manufacturing Facilities Utilities Mechanic, you are the first line of defense against downtime.

Core systems you’ll command

  • Compressed air: service and troubleshoot compressors, dryers, receivers, and distribution networks.
  • Process cooling: maintain and repair industrial chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and process water systems.
  • HVAC and environmental: keep rooftop units, air handlers, exhaust systems, and controls operating reliably.
  • Emergency response: act fast on utility failures to safeguard throughput and product quality.
  • Optimization: monitor performance and drive projects that elevate energy efficiency.

Facility stewardship

  • Execute maintenance on lighting, electrical distribution (within scope), plumbing, walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • Ensure dock doors, levelers, and seals function safely and consistently.
  • Support installs and modifications of facility equipment and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized work.

Outcomes that matter

  • Compliance with OSHA, FDA, SQF, and environmental standards.
  • Improved energy performance and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–7 years of maintenance in a manufacturing setting; plastics, injection molding, or blow molding is preferred.
  • Hands-on work with compressed air, chillers, and HVAC.
  • Solid preventive and corrective maintenance record.

Technical capability

  • Proven troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and utility disciplines.
  • Knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, and control systems.
  • Blueprint, schematic, and technical manual literacy.
  • CMMS experience preferred.

Work environment

  • Active plant environment with machinery, noise, and temperature variation.
  • Physical work: standing, walking, bending, ladder use, confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • May include occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call support.
