Job Summary
The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for planning,
executing, and reporting on internal audit engagements to assess the
effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
The role supports management in ensuring compliance with applicable laws,
regulations, and government policies in the State of Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan
and conduct internal audit assignments in accordance with the approved
audit plan and International Standards for the Professional Practice of
Internal Auditing (IIA Standards).
- Evaluate
the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and
governance frameworks.
- Review
compliance with applicable laws, regulations, government directives, and
internal policies and procedures.
- Identify
control weaknesses, process inefficiencies, and areas of risk, and provide
practical recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare
clear, accurate, and timely audit reports and present findings to
management and relevant committees.
- Follow
up on audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation.
- Coordinate
with external auditors, regulators, and other government oversight bodies
as required.
- Provide
advisory services to management on control, risk, and governance matters.
- Mentor
and guide junior audit staff and contribute to capacity building within
the audit function.
- Maintain
up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards, government regulations, and
best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related
field.
- Professional
certification: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is required.
- Minimum
5 years of relevant internal auditing experience, preferably within
government or public sector entities in Qatar.
- Strong
knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management, and internal
control frameworks.
- Experience
in auditing government operations, compliance, and public sector processes
is highly desirable.

- Excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability
to work independently and manage multiple audit assignments.
- Proficiency
in audit tools and Microsoft Office applications.

in Arabic is required; proficiency in English is an advantage.
