Data Center Controls & Instrumentation Field Specialist

Data Center Controls & Instrumentation Field Specialist

Picture the start of your shift on a large data center build in Litchfield Park. You review P&IDs and control panel drawings, plan your terminations for the day, and sync with commissioning engineers on priority points. By mid-morning you’re wiring flow meters and temperature sensors, verifying loop continuity, and logging redlines for an engineering update. After lunch, it’s point-to-point checks, Siemens PLC I/O checkout, and troubleshooting a stubborn signal discrepancy so the HVAC and cooling systems can progress to startup. That’s a typical day in this role.

What you will work on

  • Install and terminate instrumentation and control wiring at panels, junction boxes, and field devices
  • Set and wire field instruments: flow meters, temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, control valves, and monitoring devices
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, P&IDs, control panel drawings, and wiring diagrams
  • Assist with commissioning of data center control systems for HVAC, cooling, process monitoring, and building automation integration
  • Execute point-to-point checks and loop verification
  • Troubleshoot wiring faults, communication issues, and signal discrepancies
  • Verify correct device operation during startup and commissioning
  • Support Siemens PLC integration and field I/O checkout
  • Collaborate with engineers and commissioning teams to resolve deficiencies
  • Document field changes and create redlines for engineering updates
