Why this matters
During an outage or critical maintenance window, minutes count. You’ll arrive on site, align with the On-Site Manager, and take ownership of diagnostics, testing, and documentation so decisions are made quickly and accurately.
Contract Essentials
- Short-term assignment: ~4–6 weeks
- 40–72 hours per week
- 100% travel

Your mission
- Serve as the go-to field resource for AOV maintenance across a variety of valve types and sizes.
- Execute functional post-maintenance testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and both corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Interpret diagnostic results and recommend repair strategies that drive first-time quality.
- Honor procedural compliance and mechanical safety clearance requirements at every step.
- Complete work per work orders; keep records detailed and accurate, and verify documentation quality.
- Perform diagnostic testing aligned with customer specifications and contractor parameters.
- Apply human performance tools (e.g., 2-minute rule, ALARA) to minimize risk.
- Support additional duties within your capabilities as requested by management.
- Be prepared for overtime, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; EPRI or technical/vocational training.
- At least 3 years of nuclear industry experience in AOV/actuator valve and General Valve maintenance and diagnostic testing.
- Mechanical and electrical skill set with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical references.
- U.S. Navy nuclear background or comparable reactor operations/maintenance training.
- Positive performance history supported by client and contractor feedback.
- Proficiency with hand tools, electrical instruments, and diagnostic equipment; adherence to OSHA or client rules for electrical/mechanical safety.
- Complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements, which may include practical and written skills assessments, computer-based training, medical, psychological, background, and substance abuse screenings.

We believe in transparency and equity in our people practices. The base salary range for this role is estimated at $80.00/hour to $90.00/hour, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills.
