Responsible for modifying and assembling printed circuit board assemblies (PCAs) and building custom cable assemblies per configuration sheets, schematics, and work instructions. This role includes SMT and through-hole soldering, PCB rework, and integrating custom wire/cable assemblies directly to boards. Strong soldering skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify documentation discrepancies are essential.
Assemble bare PCBs into completed PCAs (SMT and through-hole components)
Perform PCB modifications and rework (add/remove/replace components)
Hand solder to IPC workmanship standards
Build cable assemblies (cut, strip, twist, tin, crimp, terminate connectors)
Solder wire and cable assemblies directly to PCBs
Interpret schematics, PCB drawings, wiring diagrams, and configuration sheets
Inspect solder joints and assemblies to ensure quality standards
Follow ESD, cleanliness, and documentation procedures
Escalate documentation discrepancies to engineering
Assist with basic electro-mechanical assembly as needed
Experience with SMT and through-hole soldering
PCB assembly and rework experience
Cable assembly and wire harness termination experience
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to work independently and maintain an organized workspace
IPC training (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721)
Fine-pitch SMT soldering experience
Low-volume, high-mix manufacturing experience
3–5 years in electronics manufacturing
