Industrial Compounding Blender Technician

A night on the blending line

When your shift starts at 10:45PM, you’ll dive into the production schedule, pull the correct batch cards, and stage raw materials so every compound is mixed exactly to customer requirements. You’ll verify TA item code numbers, check lot numbers and weights, and prepare the blender—clean, inspected, and ready—before charging the next mix. Hand-add ingredients go in precisely as directed by the batch card, and any deviation is reported to supervision and documented immediately.

How you’ll make an impact

You’ll coordinate blender activity with upstream and downstream operations to keep product moving. During packaging, you’ll follow customer packaging instructions so every order is packed, labeled, weighed, and sealed correctly—and you’ll raise any scheduling or instruction concerns to the Bagger Leadman. You’ll generate labels, align and affix them neatly, and complete timely, clean changeovers on packaging equipment using all required safety gear. After each changeover, you’ll communicate with mill area operators to confirm a smooth restart.

Looking ahead to the next crew, you’ll stage packaging materials (Gaylords, Supersacks, etc.) to cover upcoming needs, and you’ll scan/enter finished goods into the computer system for accurate inventory. Throughout the night, you’ll practice good housekeeping, wear required PPE, meet or exceed plant KPIs, and help sustain our Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
