Distribution Center Operations Lead

Shape the pace and flow of our Rogers, MN warehouse

As the Distribution Center Operations Lead, you guide a team of Material Handlers and Drivers to keep product moving safely and on time. Your day begins with a quick huddle to balance workload across the floor, continues with hands-on support for receiving, storage, labeling, movement, packaging, shipments, and returns, and ends with accurate transactions and cycle counts. You serve as the go-to liaison for other functions across STERIS, solving roadblocks and keeping Specialists focused on execution.

Role details

  • Schedule: 8:00am – 4:30pm Central, Monday–Friday; overtime as business needs require
  • Location: 14585 Northdale Blvd., Rogers, MN 55374
  • Compensation: $22 – $27/hr
  • Employment Type: Direct, Full Time

What you’ll lead and deliver

  • Balance staffing to keep work level-loaded throughout the shift; reassign team members as conditions change
  • Act as the primary contact for partner functions to minimize distractions for floor Specialists
  • Diagnose and resolve issues quickly; escalate only when needed
  • Support assessments, assignments, training plans, and project work for team members
  • Contribute to continuous improvement ideas and execution roadmaps
  • Champion empowerment, model safety-first behaviors, and lead by example
  • Coordinate and/or perform Cycle Counting to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Execute to all established control procedures and policies
  • Lead engagement that promotes a safe, inclusive work environment
  • Work alongside the team to meet daily shop-floor requirements
  • Direct product flow—transacting, storage, labeling, movement, packaging, shipment, and return from field and/or stock

What you bring

  • 5 years of related warehouse/logistics experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift experience and certification; or ability to become certified
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Broad understanding of warehousing practices and practical application to real-world problems
  • Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong, professional communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Reliable, predictable attendance
  • Ability to continually meet all ADA factors as detailed within this job description.

Preferred

  • Oracle and/or SAP experience
  • Prior team lead or leadership exposure
  • Service on a safety committee or safety team
  • Hazardous Materials shipping/handling experience
  • Train-the-Trainer certification and/or forklift training experience
  • Hands-on experience with 5S and/or Lean practices

Work environment & physical demands

  • Safety sensitive position.
  • Up to 100% sitting, standing and walking in an 8-hour workday; more if working overtime
  • Ability to continuously wear personal protective equipment
  • Overtime as required
  • Operate power tools/equipment and hand tools
  • Work with or around chemicals
