Industrial Controls & Maintenance Technician

Why This Role Matters

Keep critical manufacturing assets healthy, reliable, and safe. You’ll blend hands-on mechanical work with electrical and controls troubleshooting, using your expertise to minimize downtime and elevate performance.

What You’ll Tackle

• Advanced corrective and preventive maintenance on complex industrial equipment.
• Root-cause diagnostics: observe machine operation, isolate faults, disassemble, repair/replace components, adjust controls, and verify results with functional testing.
• Electrical/mechanical validation, including circuitry checks and system-level tests; recondition machine tools as needed.
• Parts and materials ownership: identify, source, and manage repair items.
• Fabrication and repair: operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and additional metalworking tools; perform welding when required.
• 5S leadership and housekeeping excellence.
• Continuous improvement: champion CI efforts focused on process, results, and cost reduction.
• CMMS discipline: update work orders, close out tasks, and review asset histories.
• Controls troubleshooting: resolve software, hardware, and configuration issues in control systems.
• Predictive maintenance: gather and interpret performance data to anticipate failures.
• Team support: coach junior techs and provide guidance to small crews.
• Professional growth: complete on-the-job learning and self-study technical development.
• Safety first: adhere to all policies and maintain strong situational awareness.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree (technical) plus 3+ years in industry; or 5+ years related industrial experience; or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program.
• Knowledge across electrical, mechanical, hydraulics/fluid power, and control systems; proven repair skills.
• Facility with both standard hand tools and specialized tools.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking; regular use of hands/fingers and reaching with arms.
• Climbing/balancing at heights using ladders or lifts; entering confined spaces; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Occasional sitting; occasional lifting/moving of items over 50 lbs.
• Regular need for close and color vision.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather and risk of electrical shock.
• Factory setting that is typically very loud, with possible exposure to hazardous materials and slippery or greasy floors.

Pay Range: $34.58 - $51.33 USD
