Role Impact
You’ll diagnose and resolve high-priority issues—especially electrical—while maintaining pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems. From 480V 3-phase motors to conveyor lines and servo drives, you’ll be the steady hand that restores flow.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems
- Perform/assist with electrical repairs and installs: 480V three-phase motors, motor starter circuits, VFDs, photo-optic sensors, proximity switches, E-Stop circuits, and ground-fault detection—always following Pactiv’s Electrical Safety Program.
- Apply electrical theory and Ohm’s Law; interpret schematics/symbols to guide safe, accurate work.
- Troubleshoot complex failures with emphasis on AC/DC drives and motor control circuits; PLC capability is beneficial.
- Leverage precision instruments: amp meter, ohm meter, test lamp, megger; utilize appropriate hand tools and measuring devices.
Mechanical/Utilities
- Service pneumatic and hydraulic systems; perform cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.
- Inspect, disassemble, repair/replace, and reassemble equipment: conveyors, pumps, motors, belts, chains, and related components.
- Use mechanical prints and P&ID drawings for accurate installation and repair.
Qualifications
- 2-year Industrial Electrical degree or 1–2 years of industrial experience.
- 2–4 years of boiler experience preferred; current Boiler Operator Certification preferred.
- Experience equivalent to two years as a Plant Shift Maintenance Technician or four years in industrial maintenance covering both electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; demonstrated troubleshooting on electro-mechanical equipment.
- Forklift and high-lift operation; welding and fabrication experience desired; comfortable with shop equipment.
- Fluent in reading mechanical/electrical blueprints and schematics; familiar with AC/DC drives and PLCs.
- Basic computer skills; strong written and verbal communication.
- Self-directed with minimal supervision; flexible to handle additional assignments.
