As a Distribution Center Product Technician, your day begins on the floor where incoming items are triaged after transit. You’ll assess each piece, choose the most efficient repair path, and execute precise fixes — from minor surface touch-ups to upholstery mechanism replacements — all while following established SOPs.

What you’ll do

• Handle minor surface repairs on case goods and tables.
• Complete solid color paper/side refinishes.
• Rebuild small corner damages as needed.
• Set up and operate a spray booth with a solid working understanding of its use.
• Perform advance replacement part repairs.
• Communicate maintenance needs for tools, parts, and hardware; maintain a clean, orderly repair area/shop.
• Inspect damaged products and determine whether they can be restored to like-new condition.
• Partner with warehouse personnel to demonstrate minor touch-up techniques during inspections.
• Document and follow through on reoccurring product damages.
• Notify the Guest Response Team and DC Manager of repeated item issues.
• Complete upholstery repair, including mechanism replacement.
• Assist other technicians as needed.
• Accurately report situations when repairs cannot be completed.
• Assess damages to determine the most efficient repair approach.
• Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.

What you bring

• High School Diploma.
• 1 year of hands-on furniture repair experience, including upholstery, leather repairs, and wood refinishing.
• Clear, effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time well.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and readiness to learn in-house systems.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Physical demands and work environment

• Visual acuity needs include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to read reports and view computer screens.
• Ability to hear and understand speech to interact with others.
• Ability to speak clearly so others can understand.
• Periods of extended sitting.
• Frequent repetitive hand use for keyboarding, handwriting, office/POS, and handheld equipment operation.
• Extended standing and walking.
• Frequent bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching at or above shoulder level.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently; more with assistance.
• Primarily warehouse setting with occasional work at new retail locations under construction.
• Potential exposure to oil, latex, spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors, and household dusts; moderate office noise.
• Adherence to all safe work practices and rules; other duties as assigned.
