Airframe Structures Fabrication Specialist

Build What Flies

If you thrive on precision, craftsmanship, and teamwork, this is your runway. Chipton-Ross is adding 40 Airframe Structures Fabrication Specialists for a contract in Stuart, FL. In this role, you’ll integrate, install, and repair sheet metal and composite components that come together as major aircraft structures.

Your Impact

From the first read of MES plans and blueprints to the final functional check, you’ll be the hands and eyes ensuring that every assembly meets spec. You’ll move seamlessly between fabrication and installation, documenting every step and escalating issues before they become rework.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble, install, rework, and repair complex sheet metal and composite structures for aircraft.
  • Measure twice, cut once: utilize micrometers, ball gauges, dial calipers, scales, and other calibrated instruments to verify tolerance and alignment.
  • Perform inspections and component installations; maintain accurate records of accomplished work.
  • Execute tasks directly from MES planning, engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications/procedures.
  • Follow written and verbal quality procedures; immediately notify supervision of any material, equipment, or product defects or damage.
  • Keep work areas clean, neat, and orderly; conduct visual and functional inspections to confirm every requirement is met.
  • Apply basic knowledge of withholding/hold tags and non-conformance tags; perform supervised repairs as needed.
  • Conduct precision drilling and install rivets and fasteners per aerospace best practices.
  • Champion safety and policy adherence; support other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of sheet metal mechanic experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • English reading and speaking proficiency.
  • Experience with non-conformance tags and basic repair under supervision.
  • Physical readiness for lifting, climbing, grasping, holding, standing, bending, stooping, and overhead work.
  • Accredited High School Diploma or GED.

Work Schedule

Full-Time 5/40. Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift required, with overtime and possible weekends.

Pre-employment Screening

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
