Metal Stamping Press Setup Technician

Step into a Shift Where Precision Sets the Pace

At 5:00am, you arrive, review the job traveler, and stage the next run. You select the correct dies, verify the press is within the 75 to 185 ton range for the job, and set tooling with care. Before the first stroke, you double‑check clearances, confirm guards, and run first‑article parts. When the parts meet spec, you record the setup and press the start button—then keep everything moving safely and smoothly.

What You’ll Tackle

  • Set up and run stamping presses (75–185 ton): install tooling/dies, align, secure, and verify proper operation.
  • Operate with safety first: follow all safety guidelines and lockout/tagout practices while running production.
  • Document production: record counts, part numbers, and setup/run data accurately.
  • Measure with confidence: use calipers, gauges, and micrometers to verify dimensions.
  • Own quality at the press: inspect parts, identify defects, and address quality issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot issues: diagnose and correct press, material, and tooling problems to keep output on spec.
  • Keep it orderly: maintain a clean, organized work area throughout the shift.
  • Lift and move materials: safely handle up to 50 lbs; overhead crane experience is a plus.

Schedule & Expectations

  • Hours: Monday–Friday; 5:00am-1:30pm
  • Overtime: able to work overtime as needed
  • Experience: 3+ years of press experience preferred

If you take pride in meticulous setups, accurate documentation, and solving problems at the source, you’ll thrive here.
